All
persons attending this competition, whether as spectators or competitors,
guests of the organizer or officials, shall be bound by these rules
- as well as those set forth by the National Dance Council of America
(NDCA). You can see the NDCA Rulebook on their website at
http://ndca.org.
- Material for closed used should be based on the N.D.C.A.,
Arthur Murray or Fred Astaire syllabus.
- There
is no limit on the number of Amateur/Amateur or Professional/Amateur
Solo Exhibitions.
- There
is a time limit of 3 1/2 minutes for Solo Exhibitions or music
will be faded.
- All
Solo Exhibitions must be on individually labeled tape or CD which
must be cued.
- There
is "No Limit" to the number of entries a student
can have in Pro-Am One-Dance Events.
- No
lifts are allowed in conventional competition categories.
- The
organizer reserves the right to cancel any event where the prerequisites
are not met.
- The
organizer reserves the right to merge events together in order
to stay on schedule.
- Dress
Code: Newcomer Pro-Am or Am-Am Level evening wear is suggested
(Cocktail Dress for ladies, Jackets or Vests for gentlemen). Costumes
for Professionals in Newcomer will be permitted. Costumes will
be permitted in all other levels. Dress code is strictly enforced.
- No
Continuity Style in Closed Bronze Foxtrot or Waltz allowed.
- Closed
syllabus single dance events wil be srictly invigilated. Dancing
out of category can cause competitor to be penalized or disqualifed.
No syllabus restrictions are imposed in Open catagories.
- Competitors
may dance in Closed single dance events up to 3 consecutive levels
and in 2 age catagories. Adults may dance down one age category.
Juniors may dance up one age category.
- Competitors
may dance in Open single dance events up to 2 consecutive levels
and in 2 age catagories. Adults may dance down one age category.
Juniors may dance up one age category.
- Gentlemen
and ladies will compete in separate divisions in all closed single
dance events.
- Smoking
will not be permitted in the Ballroom.
- For
your convenience a private video company will be on hand. Therefore
no private video equipment will be permitted into the Ballroom
due to NDCA rules.
- Newcomer
and Closed Pre-Bronze are open to students who have never competed
in any type of Ballroom Competition. Students who have competed
in this category previously, are ineligible to compete in this
category again.
- Solo
Exhibition Critique Sheets with scores will be available at the
registration desk and should be picked up by Saturday evening.
- Professionals
competing in any capacity must be currently registered with the
N.D.C.A. All Amateur Couples now must be registered with the N.D.C.A.
Membership cards are required on all entry forms and to be shown
at the Registration Desk prior to entry into the Ballroom.
- Competitors
must be in the Ballroom 30 min. before designated times or at
least 5 heats prior to actual heat(s) in which they are competing
to check in with the On Deck Captain. There is no recourse for
absence or tardiness. Any competitor who does not take the floor
when called by the Master of Ceremonies will face disqualification
for that competition.
- There
will be a $5 refundable deposit required at the registration desk
for male competitors' to pick up their competition number. Penalty
for non-returned or lost numbers will be $5.
- Reserved
tables are for package holders and special confirmed groups only.
Non-package holders will be required to sit in open seating areas
as directed by the event Hostess'.
- Changes
made at the competition, through no fault of the organizer, will
not qualify for teacher's points or all-around winners.
- Cincinnati
Dancesport takes no responsibility for the loss or theft of articles
left in the changing rooms, ballrooms or hotel rooms. Nor can
they be held liable for injury sustained by persons attending
this competition and anyone attending does so at his/her own risk.
- While
on the competition premises, competitors shall be bound by the
NDCA rules and shall conduct themselves at all times in a civil
and sportsmanlike manner.
- The
$40 late fee will be enforced after July 15, 2006 for all competitors
and professionals alike.
Cancellation policy:

No refunds will be made for cancellations received less than ten
(10) days prior to the event.

Cancellations taken at the event cannot be substituted by another
entry and no refunds will be made on such cancellations.
Any
refunds due, which meet the cancellation deadline, will be made
within 30 days following the event.
NDCA
Registration:
Since
this is a sanctioned NDCA
event, all participants must have a current membership with the
NDCA and present their cards as proof of registration. See the Registration
section on the NDCA website for details - and to pay for your NDCA
Membership online. (As of July 1, 2002 all amateurs who wish to
compete in NDCA recognized events must be registered with the NDCA.)
